Steering Committee Meeting
May 18, 2006

Meeting was called to order by acting president Gene Spaulding at 7:10 pam.
There were 23 persons in attendance.

Ruth Locati read the minutes of the last meeting. Dottie Aman moved and Jean Robinson seconded to approve the minutes. Approved.

Marlayne Kufahl gave the financial report. We have $98.76 in our treasury. Nancy Miller moved and Glenna Russert seconded the motion to approve the report. Approved.

New Business:
Gene Spaulding reported that Roger Felton is still under the weather and has not finished the final logo. As soon as he is well enough it will be finished and sent on to us.
Gene also reported that there was a mix up in the mail at the Post Office and our mail was going to the box of the 2004 committee. This was discovered when we were asked if we had recieved one from a certain person (unnamed). We now hope that this has been straightened out.

Old Business:

Election of officers:

President: Joe Byrne
Gene Spaulding
Joe Byrne was elected.

1st Vice President: Lynn Gillespie
Harold Parker
Gene Spaulding was nominated from the floor.
Harold Parker was elected.

2nd Vice President: George Boice
Pat Hooker Turner (asked that her name be withdrawn)
Floor nominations: Lynn Gillespie by Harold Parker
Gene Spaulding by Nancy Miller
First vote was a tie between Lynn Gillespie and Gene Spaulding.
Second vote Lynn Gillespie was elected.

Secretary: Debra Blum
Dee Sleater Yeager
Ruth Locati (asked that her name be withdrawn)
Debra Blum was elected and Dee Sleater Yeager will be back up secretary.

Treasurer: Marlayne Kufahl
Eva Hubbard
Marlayne Kufahl was elected with Eva Hubbard as back up treasurer.

New president Joe Byrne is going to ask Marilyn Hyde to be our parliamentarian.
He also asked Gene Spaulding to be our Sgt. At Arms. Gene accepted.

Discussion on taking the summer off from meetings. Nothing was decided. Date for the next meeting is June 15.

Gene Spaulding talked to the Fair Commissioners about the cost of the Fair Grounds . Nothing has been resolved at this date.

Harold Parker asked for volunteers to help at the information booth in Columbia Park. It will be manned by senior volunteers on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through the summer.

Bernard Borgen will bring refreshments for the meeting next month.

Nancy Miller moved and Joe Byrne seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
Meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm.
