KHS 2008 All Class Reunion
~General Meeting~


Meeting called to order at 7:09 by President Joe Byrne. Officers present included Bill McCollom, Eva Hubbard, and Angie Hall.

Good of the Group: We lost many good people which were Alumni, this past 3 months. We wish to pay our respects to the loved ones. Our deepest sympathy goes to all the families:

Carl Kiewert, class 1988, died 1/5/08. Kary L. Munsey, class 1966, died 2/21/08. Richard Dale Brooks, class 1959, died 3/2/08. Gayle Herrin, class 1968, died 2/23/2008. John Sampsell, class 1945 died 3/6/08. John Childers, class 1979, died 3/1/08. Michael Horspool, class 1986 died, 3/17/08.

We’d like to express Congratulations to: Ann & Lynn Gillespie; 50th Wedding Anniversary, and

Joe & JoLynn Byrne; 25th Wedding Anniversary

Happy Birthday to: John Tate and Jeane Robinson

A big THANK YOU goes out to: Bernie Borgan class of 1948, he has let us put our KHS lighted up sign on his property. It won first prize in the boat parade!! Go by and see it on Clearwater near the grain elevator.

Bill McCollom read the minutes of the last meeting. Approved as read with some minor changes. Eva Hubbard gave the financial report. Motion made to pay outstanding bills, motion passed. The balance in the bank is $15,512.11.

Don’t forget about the website called myspace.com/kennwickhighalumni. This is a great way to chat and find old class mates! Our own web-site is www.kennewickhigh.org E-mail Anji Pickard with any questions about the web-sites.

Committee Reports:

Public Relations Report: Joyce Kenney has reported and followed up on several great deals for the ACR Reunion ads. Look for the ads in the Giant Nickel, Tri-City Herald, Lions Roar and the Country Register. Channel 3 on Charter Cable will be displaying our ad too! Other PSA’s are airing on channels 13 and 99. Radio station 88.1FM will be doing an interview with Alumni. So stay tuned. Thank you Tri-Tech and Ed Dailey for helping us out.

An exciting and fun give-away will be airing soon on many radio stations including KORD, 97Rock, CoolFM 97.5, 98.3 KEY. So listen up and win free tickets! “High School Memories” will be the theme, good ol’ songs!

Sponsor packets are still available. Please contact the PR committee if you would like to help them.

Ranch & Home has offered to be a distributor of tickets. We discussed the accountability and the order of business in great detail about the ticket sales. You can have a packet of tickets assigned to you. Eva Hubbard has this list.

Thank you so much PR committee, you have worked hard and done well!

Entertainment Committee Report: Lee Ford has our entertainment lined out and what a great show he has waiting for us.

Memorabilia: Kathi Kersey showed us these neat little books that are a per year design i.e.: 1970, 1971 ect…. They will be available for sale at the Reunion.

Volunteer help: Debbie Stevens is the coordinator. Her number is # 396-4608, # 586-2243. Please call her if you or anyone you know would like to volunteer in any capacity, or if you need volunteer help, call her she has a list of helpers.

Old Business: Fairgrounds contract submitted, we are waiting on their insurance quote.

New Business: Motion made to spend an additional $580.00 to pay for the advertisement ads. Motion passed.

Motion made to give away 40 tickets for the “High School Memories” on the radio. Motion passed. 3 opposed.

Motion made to sell the “Yearly” books. Motion passed.

Motion made to allocate $1000.00 to be spent on name tags. Motion passed.

Sue Reinkens has volunteered to do the name tags for us. Thank you Sue!

Kathi Kersey is putting together a “sitting time” to sell tickets at Wal-Mart. If interested in helping during a shift, please call her at # 539-8769.

Building assignments have been tentatively made. Please contact the ACR website with any questions.

Meeting adjourned at 9:20pm.
