KHS 2008 All Class Reunion
-General Meeting –
7:00 pm, Rich and Kathi Kersey brought a video to show us his work with videos to possibly use at the ACR. He would video tape all phases of the reunion and make a DVD to be sold to anyone who wanted it. He can take
pictures, do interviews or whatever else is requested. Will have 5 cameras at 5 different locations. He is asking for a $500 deposit. No decision was made about this.
Dee Yeager read the good of the group.
Bill McCollum read the minutes of the last meeting; they were approved as read with one correction.
Eve Hubbard gave the financial report. We have $2,234.83 in our account. We still owe Bill McCollum $1,500 for his loan to us at the start. There were
bills submitted for t-shirts and postage. This was paid.
No changes in the budget.
No report on Public Relations.
Kathi reported on entertainment. She reported that Joetta had talked to several vendors from the Grape Fest. They will come to the ACR for free. No further update on this.
We are to target all alumni who are in business to see about putting up signs in their places of business.
We are going to talk to Bettendorf's about doing our printing. We are hoping to get a good rate from them. Pat Martell will talk to them about printing a cover
letter for the web contract.
Joetta was not here to report on Events.
Black and orange pendant necklaces are available on the web site. Anji was not in attendance to report on sales at Cafe press this month.
Glenna reported on t-shirts. We need to order at least 12 of the same style at any one time. She has only 8 shirts. She will order sweat shirts for us. They will sell for $30.00. Kathy moved and Pat seconded that we should order the sweats.
The website has had 16 new hits since last month. There were some letters that people had sent to website that were read .
It is the consensus of all that we need more web ads.
We need more volunteers to work the basketball and soccer games.
Lorna from the booster club will go along with us if we want to have a sock hop. They wish to shoot for Dec. 28. Bill, Joe, Lorna and all will have a meeting to set the date and price.
Other suggestions for fund raisers were: paper airplane toss. Sell papers for the planes for $5.00 each with a grand prize of $10,000. We would need an insurance policy for this. Cost of insurance would be $500. Bill moved and Donna seconded that we should find out more about this. Passed.
We need a crew to decorate for the boat parade.
Possible social gathering following the boat parade, have a no host pizza party at Hubby's, or another designated place. Also suggested we have a social on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm.
Money comes due from the trust at the Historical Society. Dottie moved that we leave $2,500 in trust for the next reunion. After much discussion Dottie withdrew her motion.
Meeting adjourned at 9:20
