KHS 2008 All Class Reunion
– General Meeting –

September 20, 2007

Meeting called to order at 7:05 by Joe Byrne

Bill McCollom read for the Good of the Group. Dee Yeager read the Minutes; accepted as present. Dee Yeager also gave the financial report for Eva Hubbard, who was on vacation; accepted as presented.

Guests at the meeting were Anne Marie Driver and Shelby Hangartner from the KHS Sophomore ASB asking for our participation in the October 17th Homecoming Parade. They would like the oldest alum attending to be the Grand Marshall of the parade and will have a car available for the Grand Marshall to ride in. A mass email was suggested to inform other alums of this event. 2008 shirts should be worn by people participating in the parade if they have them.

Glenna Russert reported orders for shirts from Atomic Screen Printing must be done in lots of 12 of a kind. Joetta Rupert asked about putting the shirts online. It was explained cafepress.com is for selling shirts online and Dottie Aman and Glenna Russert are handling the selling of shirts locally. Lynn Gillespie stated several people in his class would like their shirt from Atomic Screen Printing to have a small pocket logo on the front and a larger logo on the back. Glenna informed him there has to be enough orders before Atomic Screen Printing is willing to do it. There would be an extra cost for this.

Kathi Kersey reported she has been talking to several other groups regarding entertainment. Joetta Rupert said she has joined the Entertainment Committee. She believes there are several past alums that were in bands who might be interested. Joetta suggested putting an announcement on the website for alums to volunteer as part of the entertainment. Kathi will return with a preliminary report by the November meeting.

Joetta Rupert stated all contracts are negotiable. She believes our contract with the fairgrounds should be negotiated to give us a better deal. Kathi Kersey and Joe Byrne will handle. Joetta also asked if it was possible to get the Rodeo grounds at the fairgrounds included in our contract with the fairgrounds and use it to have old cars or something of that nature there. Joetta also suggested having a breakfast Sunday morning at the fairgrounds for the campers and workers.

Joetta has talked to her contact at the Downtown Association and she will be negotiating with them to handle the Beer Gardens. She is also seeking someone to handle wine.

Kathi Kersey showed several items she has acquired that could be used as door prizes or memorabilia. Shown were magnetic money clips, shadow box frames and other items.

Anji reported more people have logged on to MySpace and cafepress has sent a check to the ACR.

People who manned the informational booth at the fair were John Tait, Dottie Aman, Glenna Russert, Kathi Kersey, Dave & Betty Garrett, Larry & Marleen Hazen; Fernita & Mark Thompson; Dan & Dee Yeager, Ann Van Cleve, Bill McCollom, Joe Byrne and Ruth Locati. The committee thanks them for their participation.

Dee Yeager reported there were 197 people who signed up to be included in their class roster. 285 people put their names in the drawing for a free ticket. Names drawn for free tickets are: Lanette Adams, class of 1975 Greg Julian, class of 1979; Steve Rios, class of 1993; Clifton Slaght, class of 1987; Cassie Allard-Papineau, class of 2006. Letters have been sent to them.

Dee also reported she has sent letters to various food vendors and is starting to send letters to website sponsors asking them to renew their sponsorship. Dee reminded the committee the “Signup a Sponsor” contest is still going on. Anyone selling 10 WebAd Contracts receives a $50.00 gift certificate and a stuffed lion.

A teacher roster and the 2008 roster have been started on the website.

Joe Byrne showed a drawing Art Hinkley made that represents the ACR sign that will be on Art’s boat for the boat parade in December.

Meeting adjourned at 9:00
