KHS 2008 All Class Reunion
General Meeting
July 19, 2007
Ruth Locati read the Good of the Group. Bill McCollom read the minutes of the last meeting. Approved as read with 2 minor word changes.
Eva Hubbard gave the financial report. Ticket sales are going very well and are still coming in.
Charlie Raeder came as a guest of Joe Byrne and played some music from the Old Time Fiddlers and some music from another Jazz Band. Both sounded very good. We are considering using these for Friday nite at the fairgrounds when we will have the campers. Eldon Sargent was considered for this but declined because of the poor attendance for music in 2004.
Kathy Kersey asked for a schedule of events for Friday nite since the fairgrounds close at 10:00 pm on Friday, and 12:00 midnight one Saturday. Kathy will have a committee to take care of the schedule. The pay scale will probably be $200 per hour or perhaps less for the Old Time Fiddlers.
Fernita Thompson was in attendance with four members of her family. They are asking for more information on the reunion.
Kathy Kersey gave a report on memorabilia. Some possibilities are: bobble heads, plush lions, logo bags, pins, refrigerator magnets. antenna bobbers key chains, golf tees, mercury pens, note pads, pencils, ditty bags and balloons. The cost is approximately $5600 plus and tax and shipping for some of these items.
Cost of some ot the above items is:
7" round fans-- .27 each
Key chains -- $1500 for 5000
Golf tees -- $60 for 350
Mercury pens -- $.37 each - total $1850
Color magnet cards -- $1000 for 5000
Pencils @ $.17 $850
Ditty bags - 3000 for $750
Balloons- 30 bags of 17" balloons $14.50 per bag
Winona Sleater said that printed balloons through Atomic printing and Let's Party would cost about $350.
Joyce Kinney said we could make black and orange beads and pewter lions ourselves. Will bring a sample to the next meeting. Marleen Hazen suggested a silent auction using some of the items listed above for a fund raiser. Dan and Dee Yeager suggested a calender.
Registration Committee, with Dee Yeager and Eva Hubbard to lead.
Dee and Dan Yeager reported on the web site. 7,089 hits to date with 143 ticket sales. The 2007 roster is completed and on the web site. Dee also said that we are honoring all of our service men and women and veterans on the web site.
We recieved an email from Lorna Zaback , KHS booster club asking if we would like to share a booth at the fair. Our 1/2 would be $237.50. Dee Yeager moved and Ruth Locati seconded that we go with the booster club. Much discussion on what we can and cannot sell in the booth, and who will work in it. Those who work in the booth are asked to wear their 2008 shirts.
Joyce Kinney reported on the PR committee. She has 250 poster to be put into businesses. We also need more business cards to put in businesses. Also if we can put posters on glass doors, possibly back to back so as to be seen from both sides of the door.
A banner for the fair and or boat was discussed. Linda Durfee said her husband may be able to make this for much less than someone outside. Linda and Joyce will get together on this. We need a 2 sided banner.
Discussion on putting an ad in the school paper and sports programs. This would cover fall and winter sports. A half page add would cost us $210. Marleen moved and John Tait seconded - passed.
Dee moved and Joe seconded that we pay Dan Yeager for the badge material that he has used and will use - passed
Our next meeting will be August 2 and will be a workshop more than a meeting.
Joetta Rupert thanked us for the get well card.
Bill McCollom will set up a meeting with some vendors to see what they have to offer us.
Bill also stated that he would put his orange pick up in the parade if possible. Joetta will check on this and let him know. They will then take the car to Linda's husband for the banner. This was moved by Joetta and seconded by Marleen - passed
Moved by Joe Byrne and seconded by Jerry Sleater that we adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9:20
